Quoting for powersports and small engine shops

You are probably billing less than the job took.

Bench turns a machine and a list of jobs into a defensible quote in under a minute, on your phone, with your labor times and your parts margin already built in.

The demo is a real working copy loaded with a fake shop. No signup, nothing to break.

1.5 hr Lost on a single job when a shop billed what it took instead of what it was worth
$30k Spent on parts in one year by a two person shop with almost no markup applied

Why this exists

It started with a P&L that did not add up.

An independent shop in western Iowa ran the numbers before a bank meeting. Thirty thousand dollars of parts through the door. Thirty five thousand in revenue. Negative twenty five hundred for the year.

Two things were wrong, and neither was the work.

"There was a job the other day, I timed myself. It was a three and a half hour job and I would have had it done in two. I would have just banked an hour and a half. How many times does this happen?"

Shop owner, August 2026

He was billing what the clock said instead of what the job was worth. And he was passing parts through at close to cost, because there was no system telling him not to.

The fix he was looking at was a five hundred dollar flat rate binder. Paper, no prices, no math, and someone else's times for someone else's shop.

We built this instead.

See it working

Open it. Quote something.

The demo is the actual product, loaded with a fake shop called Ridgeline Powersports. Nothing saves, nothing breaks, and you do not have to give us anything to use it.

Try it on your phone. That is where it belongs.

  • Pick a machine type and the job list filters to it
  • Every job carries clean, typical, and rough hours
  • Type your own number over any of them
  • Enter what a part costs you, markup is applied
  • Tax on parts only, with a farm exempt switch
  • Total stays on screen the whole time
What it does

Four screens. That is the whole thing.

01 / MACHINE

Tell it what rolled in

Side by side, ATV, dirt bike, boat, or any type you add yourself. The job list narrows to work that actually fits it, so you are scrolling ten jobs instead of a hundred.

02 / WORK

Tap the jobs, not the calculator

Around ninety five jobs seeded and ready, grouped by system. Each one carries three times so you pick clean, typical, or rough depending on how it is actually going to go. Rust gets paid for.

03 / PARTS

Your cost in, your price out

Enter what you paid. Your markup is applied automatically and the sell price is right there. Every part you enter is remembered with its cost, so the second time you search it your own number comes back.

04 / TICKET

A number you can defend

Labor rounded to your increment, parts at your margin, tax on parts only. Print it, save it as a PDF, text it, or email it to the customer straight from the app. Your cost and your markup never appear on their copy.

The part that matters

It is your book, not ours.

We seed you with about ninety five jobs and reasonable times to get you running on day one. Every single one is yours to change.

Fix a machine, find the number was off, go change it. Add jobs we never thought of. Delete work you do not do. Six months in, that book has your times, on your machines, in your shop, with your fasteners.

A printed manual cannot do that. It is somebody else's times, frozen the day it went to press.

Who it is for

Small shops that quote by hand.

If you are one to five technicians and you are still working out labor times in your head or in a chat window, this was built for you. It was not built for dealerships with a factory system already telling them what to charge.

Tell us about your shop.

We are onboarding a small number of shops at a time so we can set each one up properly. Fill this out and we will get back to you within a couple of days.

If someone referred you, put their name here so they get credit.

We will only use this to get in touch about Bench. No list, no resale.

Questions

Straight answers.

Where do the labor times come from?

We wrote them. They are a curated starting book built from experience, not licensed manufacturer flat rate data, and they are meant to be corrected by you. That is the point. Within a few months the book reflects your shop rather than an average. If you want factory flat rate times, buy them from the manufacturer, they are not ours to resell.

Does the customer see what I paid for parts?

No. Your cost, your markup percentage, and your margin never appear on anything the customer receives. The printed sheet, the PDF, the emailed estimate, and the text version all show the selling price only. We test for that on every release.

Is my data mine?

Your quotes, your corrected times, your parts and prices belong to you, and there is an export button inside the app so you can take all of it whenever you want. We may use anonymized job names and labor times to improve the product for other shops. We never touch your customer names, contact details, costs, rates, or margins.

Does it work without signal?

Mostly. The app caches itself so it opens in a metal building, and a quote in progress survives a dropped connection. Saving needs a connection, but nothing you typed is lost while you wait for one.

What if I need something it does not do?

Tell us. Small things get folded in for everyone at no charge. Bigger work gets quoted at a client rate. The current product was built off one phone call with one shop, so we expect the list to be long and we want it.

Can I get paid for referring another shop?

Yes. Send a shop our way, and when they come on board you get paid. Put your name in the referral field on their form, or tell us and we will match it up.
